Adoption Family ServicesAdoption Family Services is a non-sectarian, non-profit Child Placing Agency licensed by the State of Nevada to provide the following services:
• birth parent adoption counseling;
• adoption home study assessments;
• adoptive family training and preparation;
• adoptive placements;
• post placement supervision;
• temporary infant boarding foster care in licensed foster homes
Adoption Family Services provides home studies for domestic, private and international adoptions. Home studies are provided for two parent families, single parent families, and same sex families. Our adoption home study pre-placement fee is a flat rate regardless of the type of adoption. This fee covers the adoption home study background investigation, which includes local and federal clearances, national child abuse registry clearance, personal references, background interviews, physical exams on everyone in the household, training or training information and a thorough home inspection for any fire and safety issues. The post-placement fee is determined by a sliding scale based on the family's annual income. This fee covers supervision of any placement for a minimum of six months, which is per Nevada Law; visits are made monthly. It also includes the finalization process, wiring necessary reports to the court to finalize the adoption, and requesting a revised birth certificate. All fees take into consideration the staff time for travel, visits and compilation of reports.
