Second Step Homeless Program

Helping Individuals and Families Transition from Homelessness

Homelessness affects our entire community, and for those experiencing it firsthand, the uncertainty can be overwhelming. It is stressful, isolating, and often strips individuals of their sense of dignity and self-worth.

At JFSA, we believe in meeting people where they are—without judgment—and providing the support they need to rebuild their lives. The Second Step Program is designed to help individuals and families transition from homelessness by offering rapid re-housing, intensive case management, and supportive services that foster long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

How the Program Works

  • Rapid Re-Housing – Helping participants secure permanent, stable housing as quickly as possible.

  • Intensive Case Management Building trust-based relationships to support participants in their journey to self-sufficiency.

  • Supportive Services – Addressing critical needs such as food assistance, employment support, and mental health referrals.

  • Financial Assistance – Providing temporary financial support to ease the transition while participants work toward financial independence.

  • Life Skills Development – Equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive beyond our program.

Eligibility for the Second Step Program is determined through Southern Nevada Coordinated Entry.

More Than Housing—A Lifeline for the Future

Many of our participants have spent days, weeks, months, or even years without a support system.

That changes with Second Step, our Case Managers build meaningful relationships, ensuring that even after graduation from the program, participants know they have someone to turn to.

At JFSA, we are not just helping people find housing—we are breaking the cycle of homelessness

one life at a time.
