This holiday season, JFSA is deeply honored to once again join the Light the World Giving Machines, an impactful initiative that brings our community together to celebrate the power of giving. The Giving Machines launched in festive style on November 12, 2024, at Green Valley Ranch, nestled between Aerie and Pottery Barn. The kick-off event created a joyful atmosphere and set the stage for a season of generosity and compassion.
With Green Valley Ranch as one of only two Giving Machine locations in the Las Vegas Valley, this unique opportunity allows our community to directly support JFSA’s mission. Unlike traditional vending machines, these “vending machines with a purpose” enable visitors to purchase essential items for those in need. Instead of snacks, people can choose meaningful JFSA donations such as clothing, transportation passes, wig care packages for breast cancer survivors, or even a bed for a previously unsheltered person—items that have an immediate, profound impact. And with each swipe, 100% of your donation goes directly to JFSA and other participating charities you may select, ensuring that every dollar brings help, hope, and support to those who need it most.
Las Vegas’s two Giving Machine locations—The District at Green Valley Ranch and Downtown Summerlin —are open through January 1st, featuring a lineup of local nonprofits making a difference every day. Green Valley Ranch visitors can support JFSA alongside Baby’s Bounty, Communities in Schools of Nevada, Opportunity Village, and The Just One Project while Downtown Summerlin visitors can support Catholic Charities, Foster Kinship, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley, Spread the Word Nevada, and Three Square Food Bank, providing a broad spectrum of options for giving back to our community.
Last year, these machines generated an impressive $693,563 in donations for local and global charities, with $398,435 going to nonprofits right here in Las Vegas. Items range from as little as $5 to $250, making it possible for everyone to contribute, regardless of their budget.
Organized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Giving Machines are a part of the Light the World campaign, a global effort to spread kindness and uplift those in need. JFSA is proud to be part of this inspiring program and to help Light the World right here in Las Vegas. We encourage everyone to visit the Giving Machines, share a little joy, and help make a lasting impact this holiday season.
